This afternoon I received word that a great friend, former neighbor and prayer warrior went to her eternal reward. Charlotte and I loved Janet and loved being in her presence. She is the second of two dear friends from our former parish in New Jersey to pass away this year, the other being Regina in March.
When we were discerning a move to Wisconsin to take a position with a parish in Madison, these two women surrounded us with prayer. Unselfishly they prayed for us, even though in purely human terms our going meant that we might not see each other again on this side of eternity.
They supported and applauded my efforts to write this blog and told me frequently how much it meant to them.
Regina and Janet were faithful pray warriors, but also faithful to attend Mass, even daily, in spite of physical ailments. Neither Parkinson’s disease nor COPD could hold these women down. And they were the best of friends, encouraging each other in prayer and friendship with the particular health and family challenges they were facing.
Thank you Regina (March 14, 2025) and Janet (July 8, 2025) for your love for Jesus and His Church, for your love and devotion to pray for your family, your parish, your neighbors, and for those most in need of God’s mercy.
Our lives are so much richer for knowing you. May you rest in peace!
Yes indeed! These two were probably the strongest prayer warriors I’ve ever met and are now rejoicing in heaven with Jesus!
